One of the better ones

The mass and energy balance computations methods that is covered makes this book more ideal for practising chemical engineers than all the others out there. I think its quite ridiculous that all the other energy balance coverage is just for ideal systems with no enthalpy departure correction to the calculations. I understand that they are not thermodynamic books, but at least the chemical engineer should understand thats how its done in process simulators. So I give this book 4 stars on that account. I am only sorry its so old. The practising chemical engineer needs an updated version of such a book.

A Material and Energy Balance book that was ahead of its time.

Although this book was written in 1969, the contents are still applicable today. As Reklaitis wrote, "the book was ahead of its time". Material and Energy Balances can be very basic, as Henley and Bieber did with their book "Chemical Engineering Calculations" in 1959. It could be taken to the more advanced level as Reklaitis did with his book "Introduction to Material and Energy Balances" in 1983. In the present book Henley and Rosen used the early six chapters to cover the basics and the latter three chapters into the advanced levels.
