I am the author--and almost 20 years after the publication of this book, I still am feeding off of the material that found its way between its covers. Next summer, I will be presenting a paper in the Netherlands that will be an updating of chapter one.

Opened my eyes.

Being new in leadership this book has given me a different way to look at people. There are the faithful loyal ones, but yet there are those that allow spirits to use them to kill, steal and destroy. Leaders need to look from different perspectives. I recommend this book to anyone in any leadership, or any lead role in life. It helps you to understand there are many different characters in the world.

The story continues...

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through Wicked Reads.

I was definitely looking forward to this book. I usually really like to read more about the characters that I absolutely loved in a first book. While, I did like to have more of the guys I fell in love with, this book through me for a loop! As I write this, I'm trying to figure out a way to express my thoughts without giving away the whole story.

Our four sexy, twisted men are trying to find a balance in their relationship and everything seems to be going well, but then Evan finds himself a lot of trouble and it starts a spiral of events that has them all reeling.

I see where the author was going with this, and it does turn out to be effective in bringing them all closer and more smoothly, BUT I feel like the characters' personalities were tipped and changed quite a bit from the first book. I was happily surprised that they weren't typical stereotypes in the first book, but there were certain character strengths and weaknesses developed in book one that seemed to be broken down a bit in this book. My emotions went from in love to disgusted, to confused, and then uncertain what to think.

I get that the two separate relationships needed to be blended, but I don't think the way it was done would have actually helped it become a foursome rather than destroying everything altogether. Yes, it does show how deep their love for each other is and how as four they are able to get through things and rely on one another differently, but if it were me, I would always have the doubts in the back of my mind and be worried about future conflicts bringing forward such spite again.

So now that I've probably confused anyone who hasn't read the book, I will say that I did read this one straight through. I did, like before, enjoy the writer's voice and find this book to be an easy read. Overall, it was okay, but to me, it hurt my enjoyment of the first book ad left me shaky on how I felt about the character's.

I'd still recommend it to anyone who has read the previous book, and I will read the 3rd to see where the story goes.

I don't really know what to say, tho I feel this series is one of those where you have to read all books in the given order of things won't make sense.
And polyamory is a new word I learned here, and for those out there that don't accept it, skip reading this book, and let the open minded people read and enjoy these books without lectures on everything...

Great continuation of the Twin Ties series.

Dual Affairs (formerly released as Twin Affairs) is book 2 in the Twin Ties series and you really need to read the first book before jumping in here. Evan again is the center of this book. Instead of being able to enjoy his new relationships with his brother Brennan and boyfriend Alek, Evan becomes the victim of a brutal beating. Months after the assault, at home recovering, he finds himself feeling abandoned by Brennan, who fears losing another loved one, and Alek, who is weighed down by guilt for not protecting him. Needing physical affection and comfort, he finds himself turning to Luka. Once their relationship crosses the line of friendship and Luka's true feelings for Evan come out, the fragile boundaries the four men have created all start to crumble. On top of all this, Evan and Brennan's father is returning home for the first time to meet the son he gave up and it appears that Evan's confidant and family friend Jimmy has been filling him in on the questionable nature of the foursome.

This book finds Evan questioning all of the relationships in his life and trying to learn to stand on his own for the first time. There are so many emotional ups and downs as all the relationships between brothers and lovers are tested. While it is clear all the men love each other, it appears that without Evan the whole thing falls apart. They are hard enough on each other but their loyalty is never in question, especially when Charlie returns to find everything has changed in Evan's life and not necessarily for the better.

Again each of the characters is very distinct. Brennan desperately wants his father's love and approval and Evan is determined to make that happen even as he feels his relationship with Charlie changing. The guilt and anger from Alek and Luka's troubled past is still hanging between them and their love for Evan and Brennan sometimes only seems to bring out the worst in them, especially as the boundaries between all of them keep shifting.

The ending brings some resolution and the couples try to set some rules for going forward with their relationships. I'm sure it won't be an easy road, but I'm looking forward to seeing them work things out on the new path they have set for book 3.

The Geneva Bible is one of the most historically significant translations of the Bible into the English language, preceding the King James translation by 51 years. It was the primary Bible of the 16th century Protestant movement and was the Bible used by William Shakespeare, Oliver Cromwell, John Milton, John Knox, John Donne, and John Bunyan, author of Pilgrim's Progress. What makes this version of the Holy Bible significant is that, for the very first time, a mechanically printed, mass-produced Bible was made available directly to the general public which came with a variety of scriptural study guides and aids (collectively called an apparatus), which included verse citations which allow the reader to cross-reference one verse with numerous relevant verses in the rest of the Bible, introductions to each book of the Bible which acted to summarize all of the material that each book would cover, maps, tables, woodcut illustrations, indexes, as well as other included features — all of which would eventually lead to the reputation of the Geneva Bible as history's very first study bible.
Because the language of the Geneva Bible was more forceful and vigorous, most readers preferred this version strongly over the Bishops' Bible, the translation authorized by the Church of England under Elizabeth I. Lawrence Tomson brought out a New Testament in 1576, based on Beza’s Greek and Latin New Testaments, and using Beza’s Latin New Testament notes. Tomson’s New Testament, including the margin notes, replaced the Geneva 1560 New Testament in a 1587 quarto edition of the Geneva Bible. While there were some changes in the biblical text, the major difference in the Tomson New Testament was in the margin notes. Some readers continued to prefer the Geneva Bible 1560 New Testament version. This resulted in some Geneva Bibles having the 1560 New Testament and notes and others having Tomson’s New Testament and notes, from 1587 on.

Indexing just takes a short amount of time.

The previous reviewer had a problem with the indexing. This is not a function of the Bible, but rather is performed by the Kindle and just take a little time. The Kindle has to parse through the entire book to generate the index.

It does have a table of contents which is actually more usable than the table of contents of other Bibles because it is in "paragraph" form. All of the books of the Old Testament are listed on the first page of the TOC along with most of the New Testament. If you sent your font size to the second smallest font, you can see both the Old AND New Testament on one page. This speeds up going to a specific book considerably. Haven't figured out how to go to a specific verseyet other than paging through. A Direct Verse access feature would be better, but the TOC is quite usable as it is.

The Geneva Bible is in old English, but it doesn't take long to get used to that, if you are not already used to it.

The marginal notes are actually in-line with the text, so it reads more like a commentary. Excellent for study, but awkward for public reading.

I like this version a lot. If it had a Direct Verse access feature, it would get 5 stars!

The Geneva Bible includes Marginal Notes 1587 Version

The Geneva Bible was the Bible that founded North America.
This Kindle version is laid out nice with the marginal notes of the reformers in italics.
The table of contents is the only bookmark navigation, although after Kindle indexes the Bible search locations are very fast.
This is a must for my study as the vast marginal notes gives a picture of the mood of the reformers.
I really like when you go to search a word, that it highlights the word in each location.

Navigation is Difficult

Yes, the text is that of the Geneva Bible, and yes, the marginal notes are included in the body of the text, but the marginal notes are in italics and it's often difficult to distinguish between the notes and the biblical text. It would have helped to have paragraphic breaks above and below the notes to help separate them from the text.

Navigation is only available to the Book level or to a location number (whatever that is). For example, If you want to navigate to Acts 3:15, you go to the table of contents, click on Acts and it takes you to Acts 1:1. From there you have to page through chapters 1, 2 and 3 until you get to 3:15. A table of contents to take you to at least the Chapter you're looking for would be a big help.

Summary: Difficult to read because of the inclusion of marginal notes within the text and difficult to navigate. This product needs more work.
